German Lenin Dugarte Peña is an Assistant Professor and a Researcher for the Computer Science and ENgineering Department. He holds a BS in Systems Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes, a MS in Computer Science and Technology and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Technology from Carlos III University of Madrid. He has also obtained the credential as "Ayudante Doctor" by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation. He was a Visitor Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University during Summer-Fall of 2017 and Summer of 2019.
His research interests include: software process improvement, value-based software engineering, software engineering in general, software process modelling and simulation, complex systems theory and practice, system dynamics, organizations theory, cognitive modeling and cybernetics.
He has been invited member of The Latin American School of Systems Thinking and Design since 2010, where he performs as General Secretary. He is a member of the Systems Dynamics Society.
