I was born in Rome in 1972; I received the Master degree cum laude in Computer Science from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (ITALY), in December 1997. From 1998 until 2007, I was a member of Pictorial Computing Lab, Computer Science Dept., University “La Sapienza” of Rome.
From 1999 to 2002 I was engineer for Rome IBM Tivoli Lab, Silicon Graphics and Reply group. During the Summer 2003, I had a three months Summer internship at the XEROX PARC (Palo Alto Research Center, Palo Alto, CA, USA) in the ISTL (Information Science and Technology) Lab working in Human Document Interaction. In 2003-2004 I had a Visiting researcher contract at the XEROX PARC (Palo Alto Research Center, Palo Alto, CA, USA) in the ISTL (Information Science and Technology) Lab working in Human Document Interaction.
March 2003-Feb. 2007, Research fellow at the Department of Informatica of the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
Since March 2007 I had different positions at Computer Science Dept. University Carlos III in Madrid, Spain as visiting professor, lecturer and tenure-track associate professor.
Currenly, I am Associate Professor (with tenure) at at Computer Science Dept. University Carlos III in Madrid, Spain.
Specialties
In the past his research activities focused on theory and algorithms for pattern recognition, machine learning and visualization. Today he is working on Human Computer Interaction and Information Retrieval, Pervasive Computing and Social Networking. |
